SUPERVISOR VICTORENE PHILLIPS HOUSTON

Mother Victorene Houston - Supervisor of Women.jpg

Mother Houston is a native of Middlesboro, Kentucky. She is the third oldest of eight children, two boys and six girls. On October 17, 1989, she moved to San Francisco, the day of the big earthquake, which was a big surprise for her. She was married to Elder Alexander Houston for 25 years.

Her professional career as a surgical registered nurse for the past 42 years has afforded her the opportunity to work with renowned Doctors and healthcare professionals. Her career has placed her at the forefront of new procedures and techniques in surgery. She retired from the University of California San Francisco in 2014.

Mother Houston was saved at the young age of 16 and has continued her walk with the Lord. She has held many positions and worked in many capacities in the church. She served as District Missionary of the Greater Emanuel District, renamed San Francisco Bay Area District, for 12 years. Mother Houston served California Northwest Jurisdiction as Administrative Assistant to the late Mother Mary M. Welch for seventeen years.

Mother Houston is a member of the Citadel of Faith Church of God in Christ in Hawaii, where Bishop Jesse T. Wilson, Sr., is the pastor and Jurisdictional Prelate. She is under watch care at the Faith Temple Church of God in Christ, San Francisco, California, where Pastor Larry D. Cotton is the pastor. Mother Houston was asked to serve as Supervisor of the Women’s Department of the Hawaii First Jurisdiction in 2020. After consecration in November 2021, Mother Houston has worked to restructure and reorganize the women's department. Through much prayer and cooperation of the women and jurisdiction, the Lord is favoring us.

Her love for mission work has afforded her the opportunity to travel to Portau-Prince, Haiti and Zambia, Africa. “We must work while it is day because when night cometh no man can work” (John 9:4). Winning souls for Christ is her primary objective. Her greatest desire is to be ready for the soon coming King. “Is there anything too hard for God?” No.
